Palmer Williams Jr.: Get Your House In Order Fairfax Theatre reviews
eh, so so Death Cab for Cutie
Red Rocks is a remarkable place to play and that night was an exceptional evening. The show opened up strong enough, the sound was good, but then it declined in quality and showmanship. I also noticed people leaving through out the show or talking or visiting at what should have been peak moments. My companion and I decided it had gotten as good as it would get, looked at each other and decided to leave 3/4 of the way through the show. The band also did not seem like it was quite able to engage the audience. In over 30 yrs of concerts I have only left 4 shows, 1 due to pregnancy, another due to absolutely horrible sound and a 3rd because of an awful set list. I could see lips moving on the big screen but not hear the vocals. I was very close, row 15, just off center, looking around. Should have been clear, but wasn't. It was clear, warm, no wind.. thus the sound should have been crystal clear, should have been, but wasn't. I felt like I was watching a bar band, to bad, I had looked so forward to the show and feel they had way to more offer but just couldn't manage the energy. I kept waiting for the sound quality to improve, vocals were often lost in the music. Palmer Williams Jr.: Get Your House In Order made 4 early exits in 35yrs. Good luck with future shows, sadly I won't be in the crowd.
